As the West's North Carolina General Statutes Annotated. Chapter 14. Criminal Law. Subchapter XI. General Police Regulations. Article 47. Cruelty to Animals; Chapter 14A. Protection of Animals. Chapter 160A. Cities and Towns. Article 8. Delegation and Exercise of the General Police Power states: (a) If any person shall intentionally overdrive, overload, wound, injure, torment, kill, or deprive of necessary sustenance, or cause or procure to be overdriven, overloaded, wounded, injured, tormented, killed, or deprived of necessary sustenance, any animal, every such offender shall for every such offense be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. (a1) If any person shall maliciously kill, or cause or procure to be killed, any animal by intentional deprivation of necessary sustenance, that person shall be guilty of a Class H felony. Yet people in the world still kill the animals, torture them, starve them, lock them up until when the animal is helpless and people come to help him or her. It will be afraid. To afraid it might try to attack trying to protect itself. Animals are just like human beings. They have feelings, they can die in the saddest ways possible. But, why? Why must people be horrible and do horrible things to animals and how can we stop them from torturing the poor animal, then starving them, then possibly; you might have a innocent death on your hands. The animal's death done in painful ways it gave up living; gave up breathing; gave up believing that one day they could be rescued and one day would have a happy family. But it won't happen if you don't help protect the innocent animals and give them a happy life. I don't want this to sound like a rant but please, PLEASE, we all must help these animals be happy. It might just get a family in reward. Wednesday is the day of International Women's Day and, many women are planning on being at the protests in Downtown Raleigh. International Women's Day is expected to impact Raleigh schools, workplaces and businesses which means students might not be seeing there Mrs. or Ms. Teacher today. Hundreds upon Hundreds of women are expected to gather in there county and march for what is right. In this case us! A Day Without a Woman recognizes the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our economic system while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, harassment, and job insecurity. On the Women's March Page you can make a pledge to stand up for our human rights and if you can't come to the march you can always do these things:
Anyone, anywhere, can join by making March 8th A Day Without a Woman, in one or all of the following ways:
I hope in the end we can fight off the enemy and have the same human rights as anyone else... Does anyone else know that lawmakers have removed a special budget provision that limited land acquisition along the Blue Ridge Parkway? Only the Blue Ridge Parkway can bring millions of visitors to Mt. Mitchell, Looking Glass Falls and some of the country's most beautiful landscapes. But in the last two years, the General Assembly has cut critical preservation funds in half, and questioned the future of the state’s largest conservation program the Clean Water Fund. The Clean Water Fund's mission is to develop strong grassroots environmental leadership and to bring together diverse constituencies to work cooperatively for changes that improve their lives, focused on health, consumer, environmental and community problems. Based in Washington, DC, Clean Water Fund operates locally staffed environmental and health protection programs serving communities in more than 15 states. Clean Water Fund's programs build on and complement those of Clean Water Action, a one million member national organization which has helped develop, pass, strengthen and defend the nation's major water and toxic laws such as the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Superfund and others, including their state-level counterparts. As a National Park the Blue Ridge Parkway shouldn't be closed down. Made during the Great Depression the Blue Ridge Parkway provided thousand's of construction jobs for the unemployed. It historically took 52 years to complete; and many people come to the Blue Ridge Parkway to just get a amazing view of nature. It also passes through the Appalachian Mountain history and culture. Hopefully the Blue Ridge Parkway doesn't ever get closed down anytime soon... Now I have a feeling we all know what HB2 is. I read a article from the Charlotte Observer and It told me about how to understand HB2. It states: "The law passed by the General Assembly and signed that same night by Gov. Pat McCrory goes further than a narrow elimination of Charlotte’s ordinance, which had generated the most controversy by a change that protected transgender people who use public restrooms based on their gender identity. The new law also nullified local ordinances around the state that would have expanded protections for the LGBT community." I know Pat McCrory is not our Governor anymore but that doesn't explain the fact he did something wrong. As you look down the screen you can see a picture of a girl. Her name is Hunter Schafer. You wonder who is this girl and why is she important? Well you are looking at a picture of a used to be boy; Hunter Schafer is transgender. Transgender means: Someone who is born one gender but acts the other. Still don't understand what I am trying to say? I am saying that Hunter is choosing to go into a lawsuit for HB2. She is standing up for her beliefs so she doesn't have to break the law every time she goes to the restroom. Charlotte Observer also stated: "The state has long had laws regulating workplace discrimination, use of public accommodations, minimum wage standards and other business issues. The new law – known as HB2, the Charlotte bathroom bill or, more officially, as the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act – makes it illegal for cities to expand upon those state laws, as more than a dozen cities had done, including Charlotte, Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham." Slowly the Legislative is trying to fix the mistake but at the same time some Representatives aren't and won't be moving oh so quickly. There repeal doesn't have enough support to get it to be "outright appealed"
